The faculty of Applied Medical Sciences - October 6 University was established on, 1996 within the faculties of the University, which was established by Decree No. 243 of 1996 on July 27, 1996, corresponding to 11 Rabeeul Awal 1417 Hijri, and the faculty continues its activities within the faculties of the University in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 101 of 1992. October 6 University grants a bachelor's degree in Applied Medical Sciences upon the recommendation of the faculty council. The faculty has a university hospital that was built on an area of 4000 m2 and can accommodate 320 beds, some of which were allocated for the educational process.
The aim of the faculty of Applied Medical Sciences was to provide specialized graduates in the fields of applied medical sciences for the market of medical field.
The faculty prepares unique supportive specialists in these fields to be capable of competing in the job market and medical research.
The faculty achieves these goals through high educational systems in order to attract students either national or international. The faculty ensures suitable environment as well as practical training in the different fields to develop the staff’s capabilities in order to raise the educational level.
Areas of specializations: The faculty of applied medical sciences at the October 6 University offers academic programs in the following majors: 1- Medical Laboratory. 2- Radiology and Medical Imaging. 3- Biomedical Equipment. 4- Nursing. 5- Human Nutrition (submitted for approval by the supreme council of universities)
An educational agreement between Fontys University of Applied Sciences-the Netherland and the faculty of Applied Medical Sciences - October 6 University - Egypt has been signed on may 2011. Accordingly the curricula has been upgraded up to the level of that of Fontys University and the our staff members has been trained in introduce the Problem Based Learning methodology (PBL) of teaching for selected groups of students for all courses. the graduates following this agreement will receive an additional collaborative certificate issued from the two universities
